Movie to Love: An Education
NOTE: I watch an insane amount of television and movies. Honestly no one should watch as me ever. There is something serene about getting lost in a good movie, about falling in love with the characters and forgetting to live. On that note, this is where I’ll be attempting to record my thoughts and loves on my movie craze. Enjoy!

I am absolutely in love with An Education. It is by far one of the best films of 2008 and I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to watch it. Beautifully written and directed, this movie is both captivating and charming. Carey Mulligan delivers a beautiful performance and is a delight to watch. She captures perfectly the sweet innocence of her character (Jenny) and her attempt to be grown up in a world she doesn’t quite fit in yet. The cinematography the music selection is what ultimately sealed my love for this film. The music is just so alluring to me.
An Education is a romantic drama, coming of age story, that deals with dilemma of education vs life. Jenny (Carey Mulligan) is a young student, top of her class, about to go to oxford, who dreams of a glamours life when she meets David. (Peter Sarsgaard) A charismatic charming older man, with alluring, chic life that draws Jenny in. David shows Jenny a world she has long to see, a world outside school and her parents strict rules, a world filled with art, and Jazz and Paris (of course). Jenny is enchanted by the beauty of his world, and ultimately she must make the decision between the life she’s dreamed of and an education.
This is my favorite scene in the movie!!
